Everything you need to know about tagging!
We will accept handwritten tags as well as computer-generated tags at our sale! But every tag MUST have a barcode.
Correctly tagging your items is the most important way to make sure that you receive full credit for all of your sales! The easiest, fastest, and most error-free option for making your tags is to use our online tagging system. It is so easy to create your tags through this system, and the barcodes will automatically print on your tags! By printing tags at home, you can avoid standing in line at drop-off to get barcodes printed. Once you have registered for our sale, you can login to your consignor homepage and click on “Order Barcode Labels” to get started!
STEPS FOR PRINTING COMPUTER-GENERATED TAGS:
-
Login to the CONSIGNOR LOGIN page.
-
Click on My Homepage
-
On the Activities Menu, click on Barcode Labels/Tags
-
Fill in the appropriate information. We highly recommend that you discount your items for half price days!
-
Click Submit Barcode after each addition. Then click on Submit Barcode Order when you are finished entering each amount.
-
Click on the “Display Barcode Labels for Printing” in the middle of the page (This will actually print 6 tags per page with barcode labels already affixed).
-
Click "Print" and print your labels on white cardstock. No paper is allowed.
-
Print as many or as few tags at a time as you wish!
-
After printing, write the size in the top right corner and a short description in the open box in case the tag becomes separated from your item. If you wish for your item to be donated after the sale, please also write "NR" (No Return) at the bottom of the open box.

See TIPS FOR TAGGING for pictures to help with filling out your tags.
If you choose to use handwritten tags, you will need to order barcode stickers to attach to your tags.
Barcode stickers can be ordered ahead of time or can be printed for you at drop off! Ordering stickers ahead of time will keep you from having to wait in the "barcode" line at drop off! You can find everything you need to know about ordering Barcode stickers by visiting the BARCODE STICKER Page.
Please keep in mind that if you are using handwritten tags from a previous Henrietta's Closet sale, please make sure that you are using the correct consignor number. As we have recently moved to a new system, you may receive a new consignor number when you register!
Tips for Tagging
-
Hang your item on the hanger with the hook facing left, like a question mark (?).
-
Please only use WIRE hangers. Plastic hangers take up a lot of space and tend to break easily. You can order wire hangers online, or you can buy them from us! We will have plenty for sale during drop off. If you need some before that, just shoot us an email at shopathenriettas@gmail.com!
-
If your item slips off easily, consider adding tape to the hanger and insert the pin through the tape. This works great on shorts, pants, and skirts.
-
Please use large (at least 1") silver safety pins to secure your tags to each of your clothing items. Pin the tag to the top left side of the garment (this would be the right side if you are looking at it). If you were wearing the garment and place your right hand over your heart, this is the correct location for the tag.
-
Shoes can be secured together with zip-ties or safety pins. If shoes are small enough, they can be placed together in a zip-lock bag, but should still be secured together with a zip tie if possible. It can also be helpful to write your consignor number on the bottom of each shoe with a piece of masking tape, in case shoes were to become separated.
-
If you have a two piece garments (i.e., shirt and pants) pin the pants on the hanger outside of the shirt, so both items will show
-
Socks, hairbows, and other smaller items can be placed in a zip-lock bag and the tag pinned or taped to the outside.
-
Furniture, riding toys, etc.: Punch hole in card and tie with a ribbon securely to the item. Write your cosigner # on masking tape and tape to your large items to help identify them after tag has been removed.
